Dogs love to run; sometimes we can’t always keep up. That’s why off-leash dog parks are a great way for your pup to burn off that excess energy and build on their social skills as well. Here is a list of some great spots both on leash and off leash that you can take your pup.
East Devonport Beach
This dog friendly beach is to the left side at the end of Wright Street. Dog must be kept on a lead at all times but they will love to play in the waves and explore this sandy haven. Exercising of dogs is not permitted on the beach between 10am and 6pm during the 1st November until the 31st of March.
Dog Exercise Park: 260 Steele Street, Devonport
This park is a great place to get social for both you and your pet! This grassy patch is located just off the car park to Splash Devonport Aquatic Centre. It gives your dog a great chance to run around a burn some energy.
View Road Reserve: Burnie
One of 50 community parks in Burnie, this rehabilitated former landfill site now boasts grassland, trees and walking tracks as well as basic park amenities. There is now a great off-leash fenced dog park for your pooch to use!
Summer is a great time to get outdoors with your dog. Remember to always make sure you have water for your furry friend and that the ground is not too hot for their sensitive paws. A great way to test this is the five second rule – place the back of your hand on the ground for at least five seconds, if you are unable to hold it there it is too hot for your dog to walk.
